No one in San Tan Valley has been complaining about the sunshine and mid 70s temperatures we've had, but every now and then San Tan Valley residents want a taste of winter too. Luckily for them, we have rain and snow heading to the state Thursday evening.
To kick off the holiday season, What a fantastic day today, we had plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70s. Get ready some changes are ahead.
Thanks to a storm heading our way from the Pacific,rain should start hitting western Arizona by noon and spread east throughout the day. According to CBS 5's Chief Meteorologist Paul Horton, we can expect to see some light rain totals ranging from .05" to .15" and a big drop in temperatures with highs in the lower 60's both Saturday and Sunday.
About 6000 feet, rain is expected to turn to snow Thursday night with snow totals between 2-5" in places like Flagstaff.
Over the weekend a weaker storm system will move in and bring us some light rain early Sunday Morning with light snow expected up north as well.
